I will overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.

Former two time unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I will injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.

Financial Attraction

Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual face-off, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
